New Developments in Morayfield

Exciting New Developments for Morayfield Families

The Moreton Bay region is one of Australia’s fastest growing local government areas, forecast to grow from 484,400 in 2021 to around 792,700 by 2046, and so there are a growing number of family-friendly facilities and retail developments to meet this need.

To make sure that the neighbourhood quality is kept while the neighbourhood grows in population, the Morayfield Neighbourhood Planning Project helps Council investigate and guide all development. In late 2024, citizens can have their say on the plan.

New Childcare/Swimming Facilities for the Growth of Morayfield

Morayfield Projects have lodged a DA to build a 150-place childcare centre and swim school at Oakey Flat Rd, Morayfield, near Jonkers Court, to meet the growing demand for childcare in Moreton Bay.

The proposed swim school to be built by Adpen will feature a 25-metre swimming pool and related structures, and it will be for all the community to use and enjoy. They started building early 2024 and expect to open the doors late 2024.

“The development activates under-utilised land that forms the gateway to the residential estates on Oakey Flat Road and the large format retail centres on Morayfield Rd,” notes the DA.

Large format means the Coles and mixed retail shopping centre being developed on Oakey Flat Road, including a medical centre and gym. This ‘Morayfield Marketplace’ is due for opening in 2025.

This under 5’s childcare centre will be a boon for the residents of new estate Morayfield Landing, as it is a 3-minute drive (or 17-minute walk) to the centre and swimming pool from Carol Street, Morayfield, where new rentals are now coming on-line. Current Real Estate partners with Morayfield Landing developers Mt Byron Pastoral Company on this development.
